You’ve tried the apps. You’ve sat in silence, wondering if you’re “doing it right.” Maybe you’ve even taken a class or followed a guided meditation—only to feel frustrated when your mind keeps racing, your body won’t settle, or you just don’t get why everyone else seems to love it.

The truth? Meditation isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your brain is unique, and your meditation practice should be too.

Frequently Asked Questions About Meditation Coaching in Oceanside, CA
-
One of the biggest questions people have when considering meditation coaching (or any kind of deep personal growth work) is: How is this different from therapy?
The short answer? Therapy is about healing the past, while coaching is about creating the future.
Therapy is a medical service designed to help people process and heal from significant trauma, mental health disorders, or emotional distress. It often involves diagnosing and treating clinical conditions, working through the past, and helping clients gain insight into deep-seated emotional wounds. Therapy is typically ongoing and can be essential for people who need professional mental health care.
Coaching, on the other hand, is for people who are ready to move forward. It’s not about diagnosing problems—it’s about helping you develop skills, make shifts in real time, and actively create the life, relationships, and inner peace you want. Coaching is present- and future-focused and designed to help you integrate powerful practices—like meditation, nervous system regulation, and self-awareness—into your daily life.
How This Applies to My Meditation Coaching Approach:
If you feel stuck, frustrated, or disconnected from your meditation practice, coaching helps you find a method that actually works for your brain and lifestyle.
If you struggle with overwhelm, distraction, or a racing mind, coaching helps you develop tools to work with your nervous system, not against it.
If you’ve done therapy and want to integrate deeper self-awareness and mindfulness into your personal or spiritual growth, coaching is a perfect next step.
I work at the intersection of science, spirituality, and self-development, using a combination of Brainspotting, meditation, light and sound technology, and personalized guidance to help you find what works for you.
Coaching is about empowering you with skills, practices, and experiences that support your evolution. Whether you’re here to strengthen your spiritual practice, regulate your nervous system, or enhance your focus and creativity in business, we’ll tailor this journey to fit your unique needs.

The biggest problem is that a large majority of people on the planet don’t actually qualify for a mental health diagnosis- and our broken system is currrently centered around diagnosing individuals.
Furthermore, the diagnostic criteria are problematic, insufficient, and just plain inaccurate for entire populations, cultures, and more.
While a mental health diagnosis in theory is focused on people getting better access to care, many people find that this diagnosis can lead to judgment, stigma, and reduced access to care.
Mental health diagnosis can also impact your insurance premiums, eligibility for health insurance, short-term and long-term care insurance, and much more.
In short, the system in broken.
You don’t need a made up diagnosis as much as you need healing, support, and direction.
While understanding neurodivergence is powerful- a diagnosis, or a lack thereof isn’t what anyone is looking for…
You are looking to figure out how to navigate life in a way that works for you, that allows for easeful connections, community, life, health, and employment in a way that works for your unique history, brain, and goals.
While being diagnosed with c-PTSD can be informative, what would be MORE helpful would be access to care that works as quickly as possible so you can move through trauma in a way that is doesn’t become “stuck” in your body and heart.
Coaching, reiki, brainspotting, and spiritual mentoring don’t wait for, or require a mental health diagnosis to provide you the care and direction you need in this moment.
That said, as a former therapist with a Master’s Degree in Psychology- when/if discussions of diagnosis are helpful or you are desiring a referring for diagnostic evaluation I am skilled in directing you to really amazing humans who can help with that.

Then we won’t force you to! Meditation doesn’t have to mean sitting cross-legged in silence. There are many ways to meditate, including breath-based, movement-based, and even technology-assisted methods that help train your brain without requiring stillness. We’ll explore what feels best for you. In fact, one of the gifts of meditation can be a deeper connection to understanding WHY your body wants and needs to move, run, and respond in a way that feels better for you and your body!

We can use tools that measure brainwave activity, breath patterns, and nervous system responses to help you understand when you’re in a meditative state. Instead of wondering if you’re doing it right, you’ll get real, tangible feedback that helps you build confidence in your practice.
